What is the best alternative to the Moog Muse?

The Korg Prologue 8 ($1,499.99) is the best direct alternative: it is an 8-voice analog polysynth like the Muse, at less than half the price. If tone matters more than voice count, the Sequential Take 5 ($1,499.99) is the best-sounding 5-voice analog at the same price, and the Korg Minilogue XD ($649.99) is the cheapest analog polysynth worth buying.

Is there an 8-voice analog synth cheaper than the Moog Muse?

Yes — the Korg Prologue 8 ($1,499.99) is an 8-voice, bi-timbral analog polysynth at roughly 43% of the Muse's $3,499 price. It trades the Fatar keybed and analog Diffusion delay for a lighter 49-key chassis and a brighter Korg voicing.

What is the best Moog Muse alternative under $1,500?

Both the Korg Prologue 8 and the Sequential Take 5 cost $1,499.99 and are the two strongest sub-$1,500 analog polysynths in the catalog. Choose the Prologue 8 for 8 voices and bi-timbral layering, or the Take 5 for the warmest raw tone.

Can the Moog Subsequent 37 replace a Moog Muse?

No. The Subsequent 37 ($1,899) is monophonic with 2-note paraphony, so it cannot play chords and dense voicings the way the 8-voice Muse can. It is a bass and lead instrument best used *alongside* a polysynth, not instead of one.

Should I buy a Moog Muse or an Arturia PolyBrute 12?

If you want more than the Muse rather than less, the Arturia PolyBrute 12 ($4,499) is the step-up: 12 analog voices versus 8, a 61-key FullTouch keybed, dual filters, and a far deeper modulation matrix. The Muse remains the more immediate, more Moog-flavored instrument; the PolyBrute 12 is the deeper sound-design platform.
