Is the KeyLab MkII keybed the same as the Mk3?

The Fatar keybeds are from the same family of semi-weighted Fatar actions Arturia has used across the KeyLab line. Players consistently report nearly identical feel under the fingers between the two generations. The Mk3 has minor refinements in the surrounding chassis and key surface coating, but the playing experience is functionally the same.

Does the Mk3 work better with Ableton than the MkII?

Both controllers use Arturia's DAW Center scripts to integrate with Ableton, Logic, Cubase, Pro Tools, and others. The Mk3's improved DAW Center surfaces more parameter feedback on its color screen, but the underlying mapping protocol is the same. Is Analog Lab Pro worth the upgrade alone?

Analog Lab Pro is sold standalone for around $200 if purchased outside the KeyLab Mk3 bundle. It includes thousands of presets drawn from the V Collection. If you would buy Analog Lab Pro anyway, the Mk3 effectively gets you the screen and improved encoders for ~$100 over an MkII plus a separate Analog Lab Pro purchase. Should I buy a used KeyLab MkII?

Yes, with normal used-market caveats.
